NEW! F.R.E.E. WATER
"Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
- Revelation 7:16-17
F.R.E.E. Water was founded by Alana Berry in 2009. Alana brought home a water bottle from Sunday School that spring. Her class had removed the manufactured labels and replaced them with handmade labels with a scripture on it. The scripture was the lesson that day.
Alana thought it would be a great idea to prepare lots of water bottles with scriptures on them and to give them to the hungry, thirsty, and homeless. She thought it could give them hope. With the help of her sister, Desiree age 7, they came up with the name F.R.E.E. Water.
Each letter of F.R.E.E. identifies believers in Jesus Christ:
F is for Faith
"So faith comes from hearing the message. And the message that is heard is the word of Christ." Romans 10:17 (NIrV)
R is for Restore
"God always gives you all the grace you need. So you will only have to suffer for a little while. Then God himself will build you up again. He will make you strong and steady. And he has chosen you to share in his eternal glory because you belong to Christ." 1 Peter 5:10 (NIrV)
E is for Everlasting
"Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, "Amen!" Praise the LORD." Psalm 106:48 (NIV)
E is for Evangelical
"So you must go and make disciples of all nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And you can be sure that I am always with you, to the very end." Matthew 18:19-20 (NIrV)

Bettering the lives of suffering children is just one of the goals of the Bertrand Berry Foundation. Because of his mother Mable Dean, Bertrand Berry also values the importance of an education and stresses this point each time he speaks to children. He wants to motivate all children to join us in our mission to offer better life experiences to suffering children.
Mable Dean is a retired school teacher and has always impressed upon Bertrand the importance of higher education and community service. Even today, Mable Dean is a team mom for Professional Football Players' Mothers Association (www.pfpma.org).
Thus, the Mable Dean Scholarship Fund was created to award those children who are involved in helping their less fortunate peers and provide financial aid towards their higher education. We hope this scholarship betters the life experiences of our awarded recipients, because they have bettered the life experiences of their peers.
§ Students enrolled in a post-high school education program may apply.
§ To be considered, students must complete an application and write an essay indicating how their community involvement has effected or changed the lives of suffering children in the state of Arizona by “offering them a better life experience.”
§ The number of awarded recipients depends on the number of qualified applicants. The amount awarded depends on how well the applicant’s community involvement follows the mission of the Bertrand Berry Foundation.
§ Recipients of the scholarship may receive from $500 to $5000, depending on the total funds donated in a given year.
§ Students may apply multiple times but are only awarded once.
§ Deadline is June 30, in order to be awarded in that calendar year.
